-Less efficient

-Low power to weight ratio

-Increased power loss at higher elevation/steep slope

TURBO CHARGED ENGINES

These are internal combustion engines in which extra air is fed by exhaust gases increasing power output

PROS

-High efficiency

-Significant power increase

CONS

-Turbo lag

-Narrow power band

-Less reliable

-Muffled exhaust sound

SUPER CHARGED ENGINES

These are engines where by the extra air is fed by a crankshaft driven air compressor increasing power output.

PROS

-No lag

-Cost efficient

-Better low rpm torque

CONS

-Less efficient

-Better on big engines

-Less reliable
